Help Allied National Celebrate its 50(+1) Anniversary With a Grand Celebration
Allied National’s founders, Bill and Ernestine Ashley, started our company as a brokerage in 1951. In 1970, they formed Allied Group Insurance Trust, one of the nation’s first multiple employer trusts for small group health insurance. In 1993, Allied incorporated to form Allied National, Inc. and in 2020, 90 Degree Benefits acquired majority interest.
In honor of our "50+1" anniversary as Allied - and in light of the fact that the pandemic derailed our plans for a 50th celebration in 2020 - Allied's executives are inviting all employees, plus one guest each, to a grand celebration from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 17, 2021, at the Kansas City Zoo.

A. Parking is free. Please park in the main lot located nearest the zoo entrance. There are stairs that lead to the entrance. The zoo is located at 6800 Zoo Drive, Kansas City, MO 64132 in historic Swope Park with easy access from I-435 and 71 Highway.

Q. What do I do if I need mobility assistance?
A. Please note that there are stairs from the main lot to the entrance and the walk from the main entrance to the tent is about 10 minutes. If you need mobile assistance from the parking lot to the entrance; throughout the zoo; or from the entrance to the tent, please mark that on your RSVP form. Trams will be available to take guests from the entrance to the tent, but special arrangements will need to be made with us if you need a ride back to the entrance. Motorized scooters and a "golf" cart also can be made available if we have advanced notice.

A. We will be following Kansas City, MO, mandates. As of now, they are requiring the use of a mask indoors through Aug. 28. Of course, you may wear a mask after that date if you like.

A. The dress code for this event is work casual. We know it may be hot in September and you want to be comfortable, but if you wouldn't wear it to the office, please don't wear it to the event.

A. Sorry, no. You will need to keep your valuables with you as you tour the zoo.

Q. What happens if there is bad weather? Will the event be cancelled?
A. The event will not be cancelled. The dinner will be held underneath a tent and we will add flaps to the tent in case of rain.

A. Allied employees and guests may tour the front section of the zoo. Please review the event map.

Q. Are there any special events?
A. Besides the wonderful plated dinner at 7:15 p.m. (accompanied by rousing speeches!), there will be a Special Sea Lion Splash at 6:30 p.m. Also keep an eye open for the free photo booth and open bar located near the tent. An event photographer will also be taking photos for our archives.

A. Each gift package has an anniversary logo event cup that you may give to your guest. The choice of a backpacks, polo or t-shirts are for employees only. Check out gifts to see which bundle you would like to receive and to look at your shirt size options.
